Online learning, once considered the wave of the future, continues to mature; it has carved out its rightful place in our never-ending quest to improve learning and performance.

Access Media has often led the way with innovations and the practical applications of new technology. We have watched it grow out of the programmed textbooks of the 1960s, into computer-based training or CBT and as the world wide web became ubiquitous, web-based training.

Ted Villella is the creative mind leading Access Media. As the founder and lead consultant, Ted brings over 35 years of experience to every project, and he has worked for some of the world's most prestigious companies. When you need practical, creative learning, LMS, and LCMS solutions, contact Ted Villella for a consultation.

Ted Villella was born the third of seven children to a family in a small town near Pittsburgh, PA. Multiple family moves in his early life exposed him to a variety of education systems and showed him that learning can occur in numerous ways. That experience informs his interest in Learning, web-based training, and online education systems.

Ted holds a BA in Sociology from Oakland University (1982) in Rochester, MI, and he earned his Master of Education with a specialization in Instructional Technology from Wayne State University (1988) in Detroit.

He is fascinated with learning, thinking, and how the mind works. His personal library includes books in the vein of Marshall McLuhan’s Understanding Media, Carl Roger’s Freedom to Learn, and Arthur Waley’s Three Ways of Thought in Ancient China. He remains intrigued with how people learn and he continues to synthesize the neuroscience of learning with learning technology, generational differences, cultural differences, and the world of work.

With over 35 years of professional experience in all types of organizations, Ted is ready to transform your company's training.

  • Ford Motor Company: Instructional Design Leader — produced one of the first and largest applications of computer-based training (CBT)
